A reading coming up & other news

Tuesday, July 10th, I have a reading at the Art Bar, 8 p.m. at the Free Times Cafe, 320 College St., in Toronto. Looking forward to returning to the series. It’s been a while! Swing by if you’re in town.

In other news, I am absolutely thrilled to have one of my poems included in Diane Lockward’s forthcoming book, The Practicing Poet: Writing Beyond the Basics.

And a poem I’ve been working on for years was recently published in Robin Richardson’s Minola Review.

Just today, Juniper’s summer issue came out. Now back to writing.

This Spring

Just in time for poetry month, I’ll be teaching my first online poetry workshop at Wychwood Writers. While I’ve given talks on writing before and held a few one-day workshops here and there, this will be my first time teaching for an extended period of time – four weeks.

By the end of the course, everyone will have a packet of publication-ready poems to submit to literary magazines.  We’re going to have a secret hashtag too so we can easily  keep in touch afterwards and share our successes.

It’s going to be fun. A whole mecca of inspiration! It starts April 2nd and goes till April 29th. If you have any questions about the course you can email me directly at lisayou@alumni.yorku.ca.
